Coastal Development Center

The concept of the Coastal Development Center aims to contribute to the development of new industries and job opportunities in the region for which the center is responsible. It also aims to test initiatives that will both counteract depopulation and increase immigration.

Our hypothesis is that there are many people along the coast who possess valuable knowledge and perspectives about the challenges and opportunities that exist in coastal areas. However, these individuals don't always know who to reach out to or how to proceed in order to translate their knowledge into value.

Therefore, we believe that we can unlock significant potential for value creation by connecting "savvy individuals" along the coast with "savvy individuals" from universities and companies both within Norway and from around the world. This involves a sort of advanced "matchmaking," where a "problem in search of a solution" is paired with "a solution in search of a problem," in a structured manner.
